The Trojan Horse hand-painted fountain pen

The story of the Trojan Horse is part of a long-running conflict between the Greeks and the people of Troy. Hanna Farmer has painted many scenes from this period in miniature on this fountain pen. These scenes include the Trojan Horse, which ended the war when it was left outside the city walls, brought inside by the Trojans only to have a concealed raiding party emerge at night and open the city gates to the enemy waiting outside.

Achilles was considered one of the greatest warriors however a prediction had been made that he would die in battle outside the walls of Troy. His mother, the goddess of divine law, Thetis, attempted to make him immortal by dipping him in the River Styx, however she had to hold on to him and grasped him by his ankle, which never touched the water, and it therefore became his weak point.

The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and doodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a bronze cap band, section ring, and logo medallion in the cap finial, and we have added a rust-red grip section.
