The colours on this fountain pen are jewel-like. Yulia Glas painted hydrangeas, but with petals that look as if they are made of stained glass. She achieved this effect by covering the pen body in gold leaf, then painting on top of it in a translucent ink, that has intense colours but allows the gold to shine through from below. She left some of the petals uncovered, so one occasionally sees just the layer of gold leaf, and then to finish it she surrounded each petal in gold paint. The effect is fantastic! We have completed the pen by mixing a custom resin colour in deep teal, adding a bronze cap band and section ring, and our bronze logo in the cap finial.
