Shamrock and Clover fountain pen
ZAR7,500.00
Kseniia Nel’s latest in her Folk Art series features a four leaf clover and a shamrock. Finding a four leaf clover is associated with good luck in many cultures, and particularly in Irish tradition where it symbolises good fortune, going back to the time of the ancient Celts and Druids. The shamrock, which has three leaves, is often associated with The Holy Trinity: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. She has also included two swan-like mythical birds. In Irish folklore swans appear in many folktales, sometimes as shapeshifters, and according to druidry.org, as a disguise used by fairy women who can transform from a swan maiden back into human form at auspicious times of the year, such as the summer solstice, when the veils between the worlds are thin.
Kseniia says she finds painting these pens a form of meditation, with patterns starting from the Folk Art she studied, yet as the design evolves, additional symbols can emerge that were not put there intentionally, yet someone else might see something that they recognise. On the barrel of this pen, for example, I saw human figures alternating with fish outlines. Our son immediately associated the patterns and colours as Celtic and said they remind him of the online game Elden Ring.
Kseniia’ colour palette of intense emerald mixed with shimmering golds and oranges is simply stunning. We have added a deep forest green grip section, a bronze cap band and section ring and a bronze logo medallion in the cap finial.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art. No-one else will ever own an identical pen.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.
