Partying in Poppy Pollen hand-painted fountain pen

Did you know that bees love to party in poppy pollen? They are known to roll around amongst the poppy stamens and cover themselves in pollen. (And it’s not just the opium poppy they prefer either). Speaking of poppies in an article in The Guardian, Paul Evans writes:
The oriental species comes from the Caucasus, Iran and Turkey, and has appeared in gardens for centuries. These flowers are an explosion – dangerous, erotic, visionary. Oriental Poppies, painted by Georgia O’Keeffe in 1928, was groundbreaking, not just for its intense colour but for the textures of the flowers and their sense of movement. Maybe it also speaks of opium and sex magic, but it is a mesmerising image.
Yulia Glas painted the poppies, the honeycomb and the bees on this pen over a layer of gold leaf. One of her bees seems to have a diamond for its abdomen and another a tourmaline. We completed the pen by Lana having mixed a custom resin colour in a poppy red, adding a hand-made silver cap band and section ring, and our silver logo in the cap finial.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.
