Junior’s father is the well-known Top Cat, hero of the animated TV series of the same name which originally came out in the 1960s. In Like Father, Like Son, Brandon Lodewyk has given an updated interpretation of the next generation, showing Junior hanging from a balloon on the barrel and hiding in a trash can on the cap, trying to steal a police officer’s donut just as he is about to bite into it. On the edge of the cap, the rest of the gang are shown in silhouette … just for a bit of nostalgia.

The fountain pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, illustrated by Brandon, then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. We have added a glossy black grip section, as well as a silver section ring, and our logo medallion (in silver) embedded in the cap finial.

The Jabulani model

SPECIFICATIONS

This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.
