The Immersed in Art fountain pen illustrated by Brandon Lodewyk speaks of how art has the ability to transform, and motivate, and inspire; yet the process is never quite that simple. He encourages artists to close our eyes (hence the blind-folded ballerina) and immerse ourselves in the work. To be bold, hence the big violins, and passionate, and to allow the art, the music, the energy to flow through us. If we are lucky, there will be recognition (the roses) and also if we are lucky our art will communicate itself to others.
We were so inspired by this pen that we asked our jeweller friend, Aileen Février, to create a roll stop in solid gold. She made the treble clef that stops the pen from rolling, and adds to the beauty of the artwork.

The fountain pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, illustrated by Brandon in graphite and gold paint, then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. We have added a glossy black grip section, as well as a silver section ring, and our logo medallion (in silver) embedded in the cap finial.

Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art. No-one else will ever own an identical pen. If you would like to request a commissioned artwork on a fountain pen by Brandon, please contact us.

The Jabulani model

SPECIFICATIONS

This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.
