The Gypsies fountain pen

Hanna Farmer’s Gypsies is one of her best ever doodles on a fountain pen. She has captured the romantic mystique surrounding these travellers … their wagons, their music and dancing, their beauty and the ability to tell your fortune. For there is a beautiful fortune teller on the barrel, with her crystal ball, her bottles of potions, her tarot cards and candles, with her intricately carved caravan behind her. Below the fortune teller is a dancer, holding her silk shawl festooned with silver sequins that shimmer as she dances, her red dress twirling around her. In tiny detail are three dancers in silhouette with a man playing a guitar or a banjo.

On the cap is a woman playing a flute, two more dancers, a man seated on the steps of a caravan playing a guitar, a dog (I love the dog!), several gypsy wagons including one for the Fortune Teller and another where you can have Tarot Cards read, a golden crescent moon, dream catchers and a sky at dusk swirling with a mauve-to-purple haze.

The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and doodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a bronze cap band, section ring, and logo medallion in the cap finial, and we have added a section in a custom colour created by Lana that she has named Purplez.
